La Balteuband is an instrumental ensemble lead by Emilio Teubal. His compositions are a blend of jazz and elements of Argentine music, such as rhythms like chacarera and zamba along with the lyricism of tango melodies. La Balteuband's music consists of rhythmically and harmonically rich pre-composed structures and improvised sections that highlight the musicality of each member of the band. This is what makes each performance of the group so fresh and special.

The compositional influences of Emilio Teubal include Astor Piazolla, Hermeto Pascual, Egberto Gismonti, and great masters of the jazz tradition such as Duke Ellington, Gil Evans, and Charles Mingus. La Balteuband has performed in New York venues such as the Knitting Factory, Cornelia Street Cafe, Makor, Louis 649, Nublu, Bowery Poetry Club, and Galapagos Arts Space.

La Balteuband has released its first album in December 2006.
