2026 New Jazz Works recipient
Comission grant by Chamber Music of America
I am thrilled to announce that I have been selected as a recipient of the 2026 New Jazz Works grant from Chamber Music America.
It is a tremendous honor to be recognized alongside such an inspiring group of composers, colleagues, and mentors—including a former teacher from my years at CCNY.
With the support of this grant, I will compose, premiere, and record a new work for the ensemble featured on my album Futuro, featuring my dear friends and amazing musicians Pablo Lanouguere, Brian Shankar Adler, Sam Sadigursky, and Federico Díaz.
The project will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1976 military coup in Argentina, that killed and disappeared 30.000 people and forced thousands more into exile, including my own family. 1976 is also the year I was born in exile—a circumstance that profoundly shaped my life, my identity, and ultimately my artistic voice.
I am deeply grateful to Chamber Music America and the Doris Duke Foundation for making this project possible, stay tuned!
